Danny Alexander wrote the Lib-Dem's election manifesto, so I'm sure he's capable of getting on top of a new brief quickly. He doesn't have to know his way around a balance sheet but rather understand financial concepts and get to grips with markets. I wouldn't hold being a press officer against him - it's better than going straight from university, to a research role with a party then shoed into a safe seat.

The Scottish leaders debate will hopefully give the scottish public a chance to find out the major parties policies and how they specifically affect the Scottish Nation. The previous prime ministerial debates have in my opinion lacked specificity, with none of the party leaders spelling out (in plain language) exactly how they plan to address the financial black hole which threatens to plunge the U.K into a decade of monetary austerity. I wish someone would tell us the bitter financial truth instead of dancing around the issue.

I'm not sure, I got the impression he answered the question on Sky in haste, rather than in a premiditated fashion. Either way GB will not have been pleased, there's rarely been such a gift to the Tories on the eve of a PMQs, never mind a General Election.

Was Darling's comment a slip of the tongue or calculated to avenge brown's attempt to replace him with Ed Balls? Darling probably knew exactly what he was doing.

Of course she won't quit. The unionists are making a mountain out of a molehill here and she's the best health secretary Scotland has had for generation.

I think Ms Sturgeon has shown terrible judgment in this case and should not be supporting someone that has defrauded the public on two separate occasions. This issue should not be muddied by comments about the MPs expenses scandal as has been put forward on the STV website. As an individual incident it shows incredibly poor judgment, or a weak position in respect of crime, and she should acknowledge this.

I think it is a fine line between the right and the wrong in this, and while auctioning dinner with the First Minister to raise party funds in itself is fine, I don't feel that this should be hosted at Holyrood.
